Seeking Sabbath

"Woe is me! for I am lost; I am a man of unclean lips,

and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips,

for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!"

Then one of the seraphim flew to me,

having in his hand a burning coal

that he had taken from the fire with tongs from the altar.

And he touched my mouth and said: "Behold,

this has touched your lips;

your guilt is taken away, and your sin is atoned for."

Isaiah 6:5-7

  1. Very interesting and beautiful bible verse. I wish for you a peaceful and lovely weekend. How did I miss your previous post, it can't be! Abigail has a glorious wide smile! Just full of pure joy. I am so sorry about Ashley, I did not know. Could this have been the reason you needed to stop blogging all those years ago? Such a tragedy, she was so young!

  2. I was thinking just this afternoon about these verses, comparing them to Peter's response to the huge catch of fish (after he had rolled his eyes at Jesus's direction). It does seem as if an awareness of our frailty and weakness is a good starting place for worship.

  8. "for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts" - this phrase is of great encouragement to me as our family faces new challenges. I have seen God - I've seen and experienced His mighty works. Amen and amen!
