For Today

Looking out my window~ I can see Sea smoke on the frigid Atlantic.

What used to be a rare phenomena is now a daily occurrence.

I am thinking~ ahead to my work day. I worked hard to clean and organize my classroom on Friday and it will be a nice start to the new year.

I am thankful~ for the warm sun shining in my windows on this arctic morning.

One of my favorite things~ mornings.

i am listening to~ Mozart on the Alexa that my mum bought us for Christmas.

I am creating~ a rhythm to my life

I am wearing~ Jeans and a big red wooly sweater.

I am reading~ At Home in Mitford with a reading group on line. I am also reading The Life Giving Home with a group on line.

I am hoping~ All of my hopes, prayers and dreams are for my sister as she struggles through her treatments for the cancer that returned.

I am learning~ This year I will be halfway through my fifties. I am learning to find peace, joy and contentment and rhythm in repetition.

In my kitchen~ I made a turkey over the weekend and we will be getting lots of delicious meals from that. I am bringing some to work with me today.

In my garden~ the flowers and plants may be tucked under a frozen ground but that doesn't stop the sun from shining on a bouquet of flowers from the market which sits, quite cheerily, on my desk.

Everything the power of the world does is done in a circle.
The sky is round and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball
and so are all the stars. The wind, in its greatest power, whirls.
Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours.
The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon
does the same and both are round. Even the seasons form a great
circle in their changing and always come back again to where they were.

  1. Sea smoke ... never heard of that expression before. Will have to check it out!

And those Mitford books are a lovely place to land right about now with everything all frigid and wintery here in New England.

And a heavy sweater helps, doesn't it ...

Meanwhile I'm praying for your sister even as we speak. I've been in your shoes ... it's so hard to watch someone you love struggle so.

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you
