H is for......

heavy

yesterday was the one year anniversary

of the day my step-daughter died

of a heroin overdose in her apartment.

Today is the one year anniversary of the day I found out she was dead.

She was 22.

The drugs she did were laced with fentanyl.

Not that it really matters.

She is still dead and all the air is filled with

heavy sorrow.

  2. I remember reading about that... time flies but that does not make the hurt any less does it.

Wishing you all the strength you need to cope with this loss.

  4. I'm so sorry for your loss. far to young to die.
If all the dealers could be called to account,
the World would be a better place.
May your dear step-daughter rest in eternal peace.

    Be,st wishes

  5. Such a beautiful girl. What a waste of a life. I know this sounds very naive but I am always shocked when I hear of this happening. Especially with someone from such a lovely family. There is too much sorrow everywhere. I like reading your blog. It is soothing and peaceful like your water colours. It has the feel of the sea. I live near the sea except when I am in the bush
    Sorry for your loss.

  6. Big hugs to you. I understand the sorrow. The one-year anniversary of my mom's death is coming up. For me, it's like reliving the event.

  7. On our way home from my Mom's funeral, my son was talking about how we need better words for when someone dies. There needs to be a word that conveys feelings better than the ones we have. Mostly we agree that there aren't words especially when it's so tragic. The same words for my Mom dying at 89 just can't be the appropriate ones for a 22 year old dying alone in an apt from drug use. So that being said with a bunch of words....that fall short, I will say a prayer for you.

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you
