4 August

this particular Tuesday afternoon finds me reading Austen with my tea.

I am about half of the way through Sense and Sensibility and absolutely loving it.

My daughter, Bonnie, gave me this book as a Christmas gift a few years ago

so I decided to read the novels in the order they were presented.

I am going to read as many of the seven as i can during the month of August.

I have not read this one before and I don't know why.

It is my favorite; I like it even more the P & P, though I really love that one as well.

In the NPR version of the movie the little sister Margaret makes a lovely

seashell and driftwood banner and I have decided that I shall do the very same thing

in honor of Miss Austen.

  1. I like your idea of a peaceful moment of reflection. We are taking our very old Maggi to the vet (again) and despite the noise in the waiting room, I shall try to have good thoughts and meditate about the animals and their owners.

  2. Good morning,
You have a treasure in that book of Austen stories. Love your teacup. The corset shape is so pretty and the colour which looks like teal to me is so very beautiful. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  4. I LOVE your cup and your book AND Jane Austen. She is such a very keen observer of women, and her heroines, each and every one, are fantastic!!!! Elinor is one of my top favorites (although I am in all honesty, more like Marianne). Such a lovely post....I want to just sit and stare at your tea cup.....but, alas, laundry! Have a wonderful week!

  7. Tea and Austen do indeed go together. I have a large omnibus volume I have had since high school that is worn, paperbacks of all her books, and now each of them on Kindle...as you see, I love them! What a lovely teacup as well. And what better than prayer and reflection to center us. Thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Jane Austen's novels so wonderful. I especially like her last novel "Persausion."

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
