Snowmageddon!

and in honor of the letter "F"

for abc wednesday

Feckin' snow........

We have had a bit of snow....

over 7 feet and the storms just keep coming

today we have wind chills at almost 30 below 0!

Broad Sound, which is the part of the Atlantic Ocean between our little island

and Boston has frozen over as far as we can see.

Roofs all over the area have been caving in

people have been losing their homes and businesses.

Travel bans have been in affect off and on for the past 3 weeks.

Travel is actually quite dangerous.

This is school vacation week for the children

but schools have been cancelled due to weather

one or two days a week for the past month.

I've never seen anything like it in all my life

and I lived through the infamous

"blizzard of '78"

I'm sure the "winter of 2015"

will be talked about for generations.

we took a ride about the island yesterday when the snow finally stopped

and just to give you some sense of scale....

Joe is 6 feet tall!

  2. the winter you all are having is really unreal-I always think about living rural and the difficulties getting to work-I went through a really really bad year way back when-so I think about that while I am enjoying staying home now-lol stay safe and warm

  3. I hope Mother Nature will finally be finished with snow after this week. This surely will go down in history for Boston and your amount of snow.

  4. I've honestly been thinking about you folks in Massachusetts and can't imagine how you've made it through all this weather. This winter will be one for the record books. We've gotten off easy ... until today. The snow has been coming down steadily for about nine hours and no end in sight for at least 3-4 more. Now, what we're getting is peanuts to you folks in MA but to those of us in KY, a foot, more or less, of snow is a major challenge! My granddaughter will be out of school all week. Truth to tell, I've been waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop here.

  9. You have too much, we don't have enough on the BC coast. Our mountains are almost bare. I hate to think what the lakes and rivers will be like this coming summer. - Margy

  11. The' freakin' snow indeed!
How awful that roofs are caving in and people are losing their businesses.
Surely the local officials can dip into their finances to help people out,
That's what we all pay our taxes for!
I wish you all well and that the 'frickin' snow disappears soon !
There probably will be some snow making it's way across the Atlantic to us, on the west coast of the UK...That's what usually happens when the US has blizzards!

    Best wishes,
    Di,
    ABCW team.
