28 february

over the weekend we had a thaw of sorts

it was sunny and warm

we got outside and walked around the island a bit
~
in the early morning hours just before dawn

Joe and I see Venus and the crescent moon floating in the sky

just over this rather tiny island

it makes for a rather grand way to start the day
~

i need to get to the market soon

ugh
 ~
 Grey's Anatomy started last night.

It is one of the three or four shows I will actually turn the TV on for.

I missed the most of the two hour special so I will have to

watch it on demand later today.
~
We all got together at my mum's house last night for a celebration

of my sister's good prognosis.

We had lobsters and chowder and lots of great fun!

  5. Enjoy every nice day you can. I know spring is just around the corner, but winter has a way of lingering and holding on.

When I checked heifers at 8 pm two nights ago the stars were out big and bright. Always worth taking in the sight.

Grey's is one of the few shows I watch too. I tease the Husband that it is HIS soap opera.

Glad to hear your Sister had a good report. Celebrate the little victories and enjoy your time with family. Life is too short to only recognize the big things.

  6. Have fun watching your favorite show!

(I used to like Grey's Anatomy too, but have no care for it anymore when it turned heavily on affairs between interns and doctors!)

  8. Stained glass! Intriguing....

Can't beat your way of starting the day... Your words of; " Joe and I see Venus and the crescent moon floating in the sky just over this rather tiny island" make me think of Susan Branch and her husband Joe.... Who live on Martha's Vineyard and walk to the beach, every morning.

Wondering if you have ever visited her blog?

    Gentle hugs,
    Tessa~

  11. I love your deep peace blessing...thank you. :) Which tiny island do you live on? I'd love to live on an island. Although I suppose that here in Vancouver there are plenty of islands for me to chose from. But then there's the whole palaver of getting to the airport! I love seeing the stars...and planets for that matter...and Venus is one of the bright ones I can see from the city. But we live in the country in England and the stars there are unbelievably beautiful. My grandfather and I used to sleep on the patio of our summer cottage near Prague and he would point out the stars to me and name them. I know what you mean about the TV. I only have the very basic cable and rarely turn it on. Well, we did watch a lot of the Olympics, but that's special. Come to think of it, mostly I streamed that on my PC, so no TV either...lol. Hope you have a fantastic weekend on your tiny island. :)

    1. I live in Nahant, MA. Which is actually, technically, a peninsula as it is connected to the mainland by a 2 mile causeway. It is one of about 40 tombolo's in the world and is about 2 square miles big...or small.

  12. What a terrific abstract! And I love the color, so rich, so vibrant. It is just the happy color we need as winter lingers on.

    1. it is actually a picture of a stained glass piece that hangs in my living room window. I have a few images of the whole piece so I thought I would try an image with just a section of it for a change.

  17. When I had a dog I would walk every morning at 6 a.m. - most peaceful time of day.
Happy news about your sister - lobsters and chowder yum.
Yes, I have a pink sink. It's the original bathroom from 1956, black tile with pink trim, in perfect condition. I wouldn't change it. Enjoy your weekend.

  24. yes, taking life and art down to its simplest form. we always try to capture the whole of a stained glass window (at least I do) and never though to just capture a small piece of it, the simplest show of its form and color. nice.
