9 January

in the darker months of winter

old books become as old friends

one settles in to tea with

not just printed words upon a page

but reminders of days past

old hands are young again as they work

and children snuggle smelling fresh from baths

stories of long ago and far way

ancestors encircle us as we sip

  9. Sweet! I feel cozy just looking at your image. The simple pleasures of tea, books, and a handicraft are really underrated in today's hectic world. A return to the simple is such a need!

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you
