3 January

first new day of the new year

~
Joe and I took a trip to what we affectionately call the "supermarket of no hope" the other day. It is located in a very colorful section of the city and you just never know what you will get to see there.

As we were walking out a man was coming in through the out door....on a bicycle!

every one scootched over to give him room and continued on as if it was the most normal thing in the world to go zipping through the aisles of the grocery market on a bicyle!

~

Joe and I both have colds. We spent
New Years Eve and New Years day on the couches watching movies. Actually, it was rather a nice way to ring in the new year.

 ~

we are in the midst of a huge winter blizzard
 crazy wind
crazy snow
crazy cold
crazy storm surges
it's been snowing since very early Thursday morning and
isn't going to stop till late this afternoon

~

i plan on getting outside
tomorrow afternoon
and walking the island with my camera
i'm hoping to get some winter wonderland photos.

~

last week i put our christmas tree out on the porch
the wind has blown it over and it is covered with snow
the birds are using it for shelter from the storm

  7. Amazing sunset image. In regards to your story, I'm wondering how the supermarket staff let someone in with a bicycle? :D

  11. What a gorgeous sunrise - I love the bands of colors! No fun having colds for New Year's, but at least it kept you home and cozy. I remember those Nor'Easter's from my childhood. Keep cozy - so nice you provided your tree for the birds. xo Karen

Sorry about the colds but watching the movies and relaxing is a great way to see the New Year in.
Riding a bicycle in a store is a bit weird.

  20. Honestly, here in Portland, a bicycle in a grocery store wouldn't be all that odd. I've never actually seen one, but it wouldn't surprise me!

Can't wait to see your winter wonderland photos if you are able to get out!

  26. I live the image of a guy riding his bike into the store and no one paying any particular attention. I believe we have become an apathetic lot.
