11 August

all the circles of light she had ever hitched herself to

came from an intrinsic illumination

a nuclear incentive

~

never wallow

~

the race was on

but nothing is concrete

her life was all

strike and scatter at will

shafts of light - petals of sparkle

sometimes pounding down like meteors

sometimes floating so gently that she had to strain for them

in the way the morning lit on a birds wing

in the starkness of the sand reflecting the orange glow of the sunrise

  2. Yes, a lovely read, and I like the shape, like a pyramid. I like 'her life was all strike and scatter at will' I can relate to that!

  3. What a lovely poem, just beautiful! I especially love these lines:
"shafts of light - petals of sparkle
    sometimes pounding down like meteors
sometimes floating so gently that she had to strain for them
in the way the morning lit on a birds wing
in the starkness of the sand reflecting the orange glow of the sunrise."
